SCD Pharmaceutical was established in 1943 with the primary business objectives of pharmaceutical manufacturing and sales. In 1985, it completed the construction of a KGMP-certified plant in the Hyangnam Pharmaceutical Complex in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, where it produces and sells prescription-based specialty medicines such as antibiotics, cardiovascular treatments, gastrointestinal drugs, and ophthalmic products. Its subsidiary, Optus Pharmaceuticals, manufactures and sells ophthalmic products and eye drops, while SCD US, INC was established to engage in financial investments and obtain certifications and approvals for export items in North America, including the U.S.
